The Albanese government is changing the national building code so that developers will replace up to half of all women’s toilets in new public buildings with “gender-neutral” facilities. Schools. Stadiums. Shopping centres. Workplaces. This wasn’t debated. It wasn’t put to a vote. And no one asked women what they thought. But we already know. 87 per cent of Australians oppose this. More than 90 per cent of women oppose this.
The UK looked at the same idea, consulted 17,000 people, and banned it. But Australia is going in completely the opposite – and wrong! – direction. And the activists who pushed for this change aren’t hiding their intentions. They’ve said it publicly – this is only the first step. The Minister for Women, Katy Gallagher, is supposed to protect women and girls. Instead she’s overseeing a plan that strips away their privacy, their safety and their dignity.
